Why we are using Essential oils in our Candles:

As a Candle maker you have the option of choosing between Fragrance Oils and Essential Oils to scent your candles. To give the candles a natural scent, we have chosen to use essential oils.

Fragrance Oils are synthetic oils which are not natural at all, they are a mixture of various chemical components and can be made to emulate a smell that occurs in nature, this smells are sometimes too overpowering and you can clearly notice chemical scent.
Synthetic fragrances also contain allergens and other ingredients of concern in fragrances are parabens, phthalates and synthetic musks.

Using essential oils is less common, mainly because they are a lot more expensive and harder to work with as they are more temperamental.
However we have chosen to give our candles a natural scent that is not overpowering and does't consists any harmful chemicals.

We have chosen to use essential oils blends that promote relaxation, are calming, help you relieve stress and also help you ground and focus in your meditation practice.

Essential oil is an oil that is basically the “essence” of a plant’s fragrance, they help promote well-being and have positive effects on their users. They’ve been used medicinally throughout history, from simple treatments like skin issues to more complicated diseases.

While their use in modern medicine is rare, they’re often used as a form of aromatherapy as a complementary medical treatment or as an alternative medicine. That makes them a great addition to your meditation and well-being practice and can help you more easily transit to a meditative state and calm your mind.

Our essential oils that we use in our candles are frankincense for centering and strengthening. Peppermint and eucalyptus are helping to become more aware of the breath. Lavender is great for calming and sore muscles, and lemon, orange, or grapefruit for cleansing and purifying.  When it comes to meditation, ylang ylang is a great essential oil to use because it helps relieve stress and depression.

Why we use Soy Wax instead of Paraffin Wax:

Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource and derived from soybean oil, it's biodegradable and cleans up with plain old soap and water.

Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax and because of this, soy candles will burn slower or longer than paraffin candles.

Soy wax is a great alternative as they don’t contain toxic pollutants and produce significantly less soot than a paraffin product.

Paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, coal or shale oil releases toxic compounds into the air, including acetone, benzene, and toluene while burning.

Paraffin candles also produce a fair bit of soot – the black stuff caused from flickering flames and when the soot is airborne it can be inhaled

So not only is paraffin wax damaging the environment but our health, too.
